CHEF'S NOTES:
Press and starch all fabrics prior to cutting. Use a scant 1/4" seam. These are generously sized half square triangles units so they will require trimming.

INGREDIENTS
6-INCH BLOCK
From fabric 1, cut:
{A} (4) 2½” squares
From fabric 2, cut:
{A} (6) 2½” squares
From fabric 3, cut:
{A} (4) 2½” squares
From fabric 4, cut:
{A} (2) 2½” squares
12-INCH BLOCK
From fabric 1, cut:
{A} (4) 4” squares
From fabric 2, cut:
{A} (6) 4” squares
From fabric 3, cut:
{A} (4) 4” squares
From fabric 4, cut:
{A} (2) 4” squares
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1. MAKE HALF SQUARE TRIANGLES
Draw a pencil line on the wrong side diagonal of 1 Fabric 1 square. Pair with Fabric 2 square. Sew ¼” away from each side of the pencil line. Cut apart on the line and press to the darker print.
Repeat process to make the following sets of Half Square Triangles:
Fabric 1 + 2: Make 4 HST units
Fabric 1 + 3: Make 4 HST units
Fabric 2 + 3: Make 4 HST units
Fabric 2 + 4: Make 4 HST units
Trim HST units to 2” square for 6-inch block and 3½” square for 12” block.
STEP 2. ASSEMBLE BLOCK
Layout the block as shown. Sew together and press well.
